EFEKTIVITAS MODEL PEMBELAJARAN WEE (WONDERING, EXPLORING, EXPLAINING) BERBANTUAN MEDIA TIGA DIMENSI TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN SPASIAL DITINJAU DARI DISPOSISI MATEMATIS PESERTA DIDIK KELAS VIII SMP ISLAM GONDANGLEGI
Abstract
Abstrak: Spatial ability is an important ability for students in the mathematics learning process because spatial ability can help develop the quality of students. In addition to cognitive aspects such as spatial abilities that students need to have, affective aspects also need to be developed. Mathematical disposition is one of the affective aspects that affect the mathematics learning process. Mathematical disposition is a strong encouragement, awareness or tendency to learn mathematics as well as behave positively in solving mathematical problems. In order to increase the enthusiasm and motivation of students in developing their spatial abilities and also improve mathematical disposition in students, education is expected to be able to provide learning by implementing innovative learning approaches. One of the learning models that is expected to overcome this problem is the WEE (Wondering, Exploring, Explaining) learning model with the help of three-dimensional media.
The purpose of this study is to find out the difference between the spatial abilities of students and those given and not given the learning model of wondering, exploring, explaining assisted by three-dimensional media on spatial abilities reviewed from the disposition of students in grade VIII of SMP Islam Gondanglegi Mathematics and To find out the learning model of wondering, exploring, explaining Assisted by effective three-dimensional media on spatial ability reviewed from the mathematical disposition of students on the building material of the flat side space of class VIII of SMP Islam Gondanglegi. This study uses a quantitative approach with the type of quasi-experimental research. The quasi experiment design used in this study is a pretest-posttest control group design. The source of data in this study is grade VIII students of Gondanglegi Islamic Junior High School The selection of research samples using the purposive sampling technique, obtained from class VIII-C as an experimental class and class VIII-A as a control class with each class totaling 16 students.
Based on the results of this study, it was obtained that the average value of spatial ability postes reviewed from the mathematical disposition of students in each category in the experimental class was higher than the average in the control class. In the control class, the high mathematical disposition had an average score of 67.53, the medium mathematical disposition obtained an average score of 55.75, and the low mathematical disposition had an average score of 47.2. Meanwhile, in the experimental class, the high mathematical disposition obtained an average score of 83.84, the medium mathematical disposition obtained an average score of 69.65. Therefore, it can be said that there is a difference between classes that use the three-dimensional media-assisted wondering, exploring, explaining learning model and those that do not and it can also be said that the three-dimensional media-assisted wondering, exploring, explaining learning model is effective on spatial ability reviewed from the mathematical disposition of students on the material of building a flat-sided space in grade VIII of Gondanglegi Islamic Junior High School
