SUPPORTING HOME-BASED LEARNING: UNDERSTANDING STUDENT ENGLISH LEARNING ON ANIMATED VIDEO FOR JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL

Abstract


Abstract:. This study aims to find out how junior high school students who learn using animated videos, as well as the role of parents in helping or facilitating children learn English at home through animated videos, Students who learn using animated videos can use their abilities and confidence to learn English effectively. This study uses an incremental narrative design where they are interviewed in depth about their experiences learning using animated videos. The participants in this study are two grade 2 junior high school students as well as parents at home. The findings of this study reveal that junior high school students who use animated videos to learn independently at home find it more effective and find it easy to understand the language and pronunciation. This finding motivates junior high school students who study at home using facilities provided by their parents and feel interested in learning using animated videos for self-study.
