This study aims to determine the level of students' mathematical reasoning ability in solving probability problems. This study uses a qualitative approach method of descriptive research. The research instrument is in the form of mathematical reasoning ability test questions and interview guidelines. The test questions were given to 15 students as the subjects of this study, 6 of whom were 2nd semester students of class A of the Mathematics Education Study Program, Universitas Islam Malang. Data validation in this study used triangulation techniques. Based on the results of data analysis, conclusions were obtained based on the formulation of the problem, namely: a) the mathematical reasoning ability of students in the high ability category in solving problems that have been given is able to meet four indicators of mathematical reasoning ability, namely analyzing mathematical situations, planning the solution process, solving problems with systematic steps, drawing logical conclusions; b) the mathematical reasoning ability of students in the medium ability category in solving problems that have been given meets three indicators, namely analyzing mathematical situations, solving problems with systematic steps, drawing logical conclusions; c) the mathematical reasoning ability of students in the low ability category in solving problems that have been given meets one indicator, namely analyzing mathematical situations.

Keywords: Mathematical reasoning ability, probability, descriptive qualitative.
