The Correlation between Writing Strategies and Writing Achievement

Abstract


Abstract: This study is aimed to know the correlation between writing strategies and students’ writing achievement. The research design of this study is quantitative research in form of correlational design. The subjects of this study were 54 students from second semester students of English Department in Unisma that took writing class. The questionnaire that consists of 38 items was used to collect data of students’ foreign language and the document of students’ final test score to know their writing achievment. The result of this study is there is a moderate correlation between writing strategies and students’ writing achievment, the more students used strategies the higher they get writing scores.
