PERAN KUA DALAM MEWUJUDKAN KELUARGA SAMARA DENGAN PEMERIKSAAN KESEHATAN GUNA MENCEGAH PENYAKIT MENULAR DAN PENYAKIT GENETIK PERSPEKTIF HUKUM ISLAM DI KUA KECAMATAN KANIGORO

Abstract

In Blitar Regency, cases of HIV/AIDS and the genetic disease diabetes mellitus have increased significantly. In this context, the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) plays a strategic role not only as a marriage registrar but also as an institution that can contribute to the development of prospective brides and grooms through premarital health checkups. This study aims to analyze the role of the KUA in encouraging health checkups for prospective brides and grooms to prevent infectious and genetic diseases and to achieve a harmonious family. This study employed a qualitative approach, utilizing descriptive-analytical methods and a literature review, supplemented by interviews with KUA officials and health workers. The results indicate that the KUA plays a crucial role in educating and facilitating health checkups for prospective brides and grooms. From an Islamic legal perspective, maintaining health and preventing harm are part of the maqasid al-shari'ah (obligatory objectives of sharia); therefore, premarital health checkups can be considered a form of sharia-compliant effort to achieve a healthy and quality marriage. Thus, stronger synergy is needed among the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA), the Health Office, and the community to support premarital health checks, thereby creating physically and mentally healthy families under Islamic teachings.
