PENGARUH PERCERAIAN ORANG TUA TERHADAP PERILAKU SOSIAL DAN PENDIDIKAN ANAK (STUDI KASUS DI KECAMATAN PONDOK AREN KOTA TANGERANG SELATAN)
Abstract
This study explores the impact of parental divorce on children’s social behavior and educational experiences in Pondok Aren District, South Tangerang City. Triggered by the growing divorce rate and its effects on children’s development, this research investigates (1) the contextual background of parental divorce cases, (2) its influence on children’s social interactions, and (3) its consequences on their educational motivation. Positioned within a socio-ecological framework, this qualitative case study emphasizes the lived experiences of children post-divorce, distinguishing it from earlier works by focusing on children's adaptive behaviors. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, involving four child informants and a community religious leader. The findings reveal that parental divorce often results in emotional instability, reduced self-confidence, social withdrawal, disrupted learning focus, and lack of educational support. Nonetheless, some children exhibit resilience, shaped by external support from extended family, peers, or school environments. This study underscores the need for systemic emotional and educational support to help children navigate post-divorce challenges while maintaining personal growth and social engagement.
