IMPLEMENTASI PEMBELAJARAN CODING BERBASIS LOOSE PART UNTUK MENSTIMULASI KETERAMPILAN BERPIKIR KOMPUTASIONAL DI PAUD MATAHARI
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the implementation of screen-free coding (unplugged coding) based on loose part to stimulate young children's computational thinking skills in Kindergarten A at PAUD Matahari Kepanjen. Using a qualitative approach with a descriptive case study design, this research involved the classroom teacher and 13 children in the Kindergarten A2 group. Data were collected through passive participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, then analyzed interactively. The results showed that well-planned unplugged coding learning, packaged as active play, successfully stimulates pattern recognition and algorithmic thinking in children. Authentic assessment recorded improvements in children's focus and basic numeracy skills. Additionally, the study highlights a fundamental difference: coding-based loose part emphasize structured symbolic representations compared to conventional loose part play. Loose part are highly effective due to their concrete, tactile, and flexible nature, making them a healthy, cost-effective, and screen-free alternative for stimulating technological logic in early childhood cognitive development.
