Abstract

This article discusses the use of small alphabet learning media in improving early reading skills in children aged 5-6 years at Muslimat NU 21 Kindergarten. One of the important components of education in early childhood education is language development. The language development that must be developed in early childhood is the ability to read. Reading is a way to gain knowledge throughout life, where we can gain knowledge and insight through reading activities. Early childhood experiences rapid development, especially in language and reading skills. In this context, the Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach is used with two cycles to evaluate the effectiveness of using this media. The results of the study showed that the use of small moving alphabet media significantly improved the early reading abilities of children in kindergarten. This underlines the importance of using appropriate media in early childhood education to increase children's interest and reading skills. Furthermore, this research highlights the importance of approaches tailored to the characteristics and needs of each child to achieve optimal learning outcomes. Thus, this approach makes a positive contribution to the development of early reading skills in young children. The implications of this research emphasize the need for creative and child-centered approaches in designing effective early childhood education programs.
