Plagiarism Policy

Pena Dimas is committed to maintaining academic integrity and ensuring the originality of all published articles.

All submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by another journal. Plagiarism checking is conducted after the peer-review and final revision process using Turnitin.

Pena Dimas applies a maximum similarity index of 20%. The similarity score is used as an indicator and does not automatically determine plagiarism. The editor will examine the source, context, and extent of the similarities identified.

After the final revision, the manuscript is checked for plagiarism. Manuscripts with a similarity index of 20% or below are declared eligible to proceed to the next editorial process. Manuscripts with a similarity index above 20% are returned to the authors for correction and re-checking.

Plagiarism includes the use of another person's words, ideas, data, figures, or other intellectual work without proper acknowledgement. Self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, and inappropriate text recycling are also considered publication-ethics violations.

If substantial plagiarism is identified, the editor may reject the manuscript. If plagiarism is discovered after publication, Pena Dimas may issue a correction, expression of concern, or retraction, depending on the severity of the case.

The plagiarism checking process is integrated into the editorial workflow:

Initial Screening → Double-Blind Peer Review → Revision → Final Revision → Turnitin Check → Editorial Decision → Publication

The final decision regarding plagiarism and publication rests with the Editor-in-Chief and/or the handling editor.
