Abstract

The use of fuel cannot be separated in supporting community activities, which also makes the need forenergy increase, causing a continued reduction in the availability of much-needed fossil energy. So a solution isneeded to deal with the crisis of the problem of fossil fuel sources, one alternative is to process wood intobiomassxin thexform ofxwood pellets. The purpose of this study was to find out the combustion characteristics ofmixed acacia-rice husk wood pellets using the single wood pellet method, with four variations of acacia-ricehusk wood pellets of 100%:0%, 90%10%, 80%:20% , and 70%:30%. The combustion characteristics we will belooking for include burning time, burning rate, flame visualization, and combustion temperature. From theexperimental results, it was obtained that the longest burning time was on the acacia-rice husk variation70%:30%, the slowest burning rate was on the rice variety 70%:30%, the highest fire was on the 100%:0%variation, and the highest temperature was on the 100% variation: 0%. Long burning time and rate due to lowcombustion temperature, high flame and high temperature due to high fixed carbon content in wood pellets.
