Abstract


 

ABSTRACT

            This study aims to analyze the effect of financial attitude, financial knowledge, and parental income on financial management behavior with love of money as an intervening variable for students at state and private university in Malang. This research was conducted in the Malang City. The sampling technique used was proportionate random sampling. Partcipants in this reseacrh were students studying at state and private universities in Malang with a total of 75 student participants. This research is a quantitative research and data analysis method using simple linear regression, path analysis, and multiple tests. The results showed that partially the financial attitude variable, financial knowledge had a significant positive effect on financial management behavior, while the parental income variable had a negatively significant effect on the financial management behavior of PTN and PTS students in Malang. The results of the path analysis test and the sobel test revealed that financial knowledge has no effect on financial management behavior through the love of money variable as evidenced by the results of t-counts less than t-tables (0.18 <1.993), which means that it is not significant.
