The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of Hard Skills and Soft Skills on the Tendency to Select Work Fields through Student Self Confidence. The data used are primary data obtained from distributing questionnaires to 71 (forty one) respondents. Data analysis uses SPSS 16 to test the direct effect between variables and the multiple test to test the indirect effect. Data analysis shows that hard skills have an effect on self-confidence, soft skills have an effect on self-confidence, hard skills have an effect on the tendency of selecting work fields, soft skills have an effect on the tendency to select work fields, self-confidence has an effect on the tendency to choose job offerings, student self-confidence mediates the influence hard skills and soft skills to the tendency of work field selection. The limitation of this study is the use of purposive sampling method, which makes the final-level students of the Management Department of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Islamic University of Malang who are taking thesis without any thorough consideration of other students who will take thesis in the next period.
