Abstract

Abstract

Educated unemployment among university graduates remains a structural issue in Indonesia, particularly in Malang City. Developing student entrepreneurship serves as a strategic solution to address this problem; however, entrepreneurial intention is often hindered by a job-seeker mindset. Anchored in the Entrepreneurial Event Model (EEM), this study aims to examine the simultaneous and partial effects of creativity, family environment, and innovation on university students' entrepreneurial intentions in Malang City. This quantitative explanatory research involved a population of active students from seven public and private universities in Malang. A sample of 160 respondents was selected using a combination of proportional quota sampling and purposive sampling, targeting active students who have taken or are currently taking entrepreneurship courses. Primary data collected via online structured questionnaires were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results indicate that creativity, family environment, and innovation simultaneously have a significant effect on entrepreneurial intention. Partially, all three independent variables significantly and positively affect entrepreneurial intention, with innovation emerging as the most dominant factor. Together, these variables account for 87.1% of the variance in students' entrepreneurial intention. These findings highlight that internal ideation, execution of unique business concepts, and family moral support are critical in strengthening students' perceived feasibility and perceived desirability toward entrepreneurship. Higher education institutions are recommended to enhance practice-oriented entrepreneurship programs and innovation simulations to foster graduates as job creators.
