Abstract

This study aims to determine the Influence of Hedonism Lifestyle, Self-Control, and E-Wallet Use on Financial Management of Students in Malang City. This study uses a quantitative method with an associative causal approach. The data used are primary data obtained through questionnaires distributed to students in Malang City who use e-wallets. Sampling was carried out using a purposive sampling method, with 160 respondents. This study uses a multiple linear regression model with the help of IBM SPSS software version 26. The results of the study indicate that hedonism lifestyle, self-control, and e-wallet use simultaneously have a significant influence on student financial management. Partially, hedonism lifestyle does not have a significant influence on student financial management. Meanwhile, self-control has a positive and significant influence on student financial management, and e-wallet use has a positive and significant influence on student financial management. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.493 indicates that the variables hedonistic lifestyle, self-control, and e-wallet use explain 49.3% of the variation in students' financial management, while the remaining 50.7% is explained by other variables outside the study. This research contributes to the development of behavioral financial theory by demonstrating the importance of self-control and the use of digital financial technology in improving students' financial management.
