PENERAPAN MODEL PROBLEM BASED LEARNING (PBL) BERBASIS ETNOMATEMATIKA UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATERI LINGKARAN PESERTA DIDIK KELAS VIiI MTs AL-MUSLIHUN SUMBERMANJING WETAN TAHUN AJARAN 2023/2024
Abstract
Abstrak : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) mendeskripsikan penerapan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbasis etnomatematika untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah materi lingkaran peserta didik kelas VIII MTs Al-Muslihun Sumbermanjing Wetan tahun ajaran 2023/2024, 2) mendeskripsikan hasil peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah melalui model Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbasis etnomatematika materi lingkaran peserta didik kelas VIII MTs Al-Muslihun Sumbermanjing Wetan tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Subjek penelitian ini melibatkan 20 orang peserta didik kelas VII A MTs Al-Muslihun Sumbermanjing Wetan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan sebanyak 2 siklus. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu melalui hasil observasi kegiatan guru dan peserta didik, hasil tes akhir siklus, hasil wawancara, dan hasil catatan lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) Penerapan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbasis Etnomatematika dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah materi lingkaran peserta didik kelas VIII MTs Al-Muslihun Sumbermanjing Wetan tahun ajaran 2023/2024 dengan tahapan pembelajaran sebagai berikut: a) Kegiatan awal; b) Kegiatan inti (mengorientasikan peserta didik pada masalah berbasis etnomatematika, mengorganisasikan peserta didik untuk belajar, membimbing penyelidikan individu maupun kelompok, mengembangkan dan menyajikan hasil karya, menganalisis dan mengevaluasi proses pemecahan masalah); c) kegiatan penutup, (2) Deskripsi hasil peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah melalui analisis data terlihat pada siklus I ke siklus II dimana a) hasil observasi kegiatan peserta didik meningkat dari 71,36% menjadi 80,83% dengan kriteria “baikâ€, b) hasil observasi kegiatan guru meningkat dari 72,36% menjadi 84,43% dengan kriteria “baik†c) hasil tes akhir siklus meningkat dari rata-rata 7,1 dengan persentase ketuntasan 65% ke nilai rata-rata 77,2 persentase ketuntasan 85% dengan kriteria “baikâ€, d) hasil respon peserta didik meningkat dari 65% menjadi 83,3% dengan kriteria â€baikâ€peserta didik memberikan respon positif terhadap pembelajaran dengan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbasis Etnomatematika.

Abstract: This study aims to 1) describe the application of the ethnomathematics-based Problem Based Learning (PBL) model to improve the problem-solving ability of class VIII students of MTs Al-Muslihun Sumbermanjing Wetan in the 2023/2024 academic year, 2) describe the results of improving problem-solving abilities through the ethnomathematics-based Problem Based Learning (PBL) model of circle material for class VIII students of MTs Al-Muslihun Sumbermanjing Wetan in the 2023/2024 academic year. The research method used is classroom action research with a qualitative and quantitative approach. The subjects of this study involved 20 class VII A students of MTs Al-Muslihun Sumbermanjing Wetan. This research was conducted in 2 cycles. The data collection techniques used were through observations of teacher and student activities, final cycle test results, interview results, and field notes. The results of the study show (1) The application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model based on Ethnomathematics can improve the problem-solving ability of class VIII students of MTs Al-Muslihun Sumbermanjing Wetan in the 2023/2024 academic year with the following learning stages: a) Initial activities; b) Core activities (orienting students to ethnomathematics-based problems, organizing students to learn, guiding individual and group investigations, developing and presenting work results, analyzing and evaluating the problem-solving process); c) closing activities, (2) Description of the results of improving problem solving skills through data analysis seen in cycle I to cycle II where a) the results of observations of student activities increased from 71.36% to 80.83% with the criteria of "good", b) the results of observations of teacher activities increased from 72.36% to 84.43% with the criteria of "good" c) the results of the final cycle test increased from an average of 7.1 with a percentage of completion of 65% to an average value of 77.2 with a percentage of completion of 85% with the criteria of "good", d) the results of student responses increased from 65% to 83.3% with the criteria of "good" students gave a positive response to learning with the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model based on Ethnomathematics.
