ENHANCING READING COMPREHENSION SKILLS OF SECOND-GRADE STUDENTS USING THE RECIPROCAL TEACHING METHOD

Abstract


Abstract : This study investigated the effectiveness of the Reciprocal Teaching Method in improving the reading comprehension skills of second-grade students at MTs Al-Hayatul Islamiyah in Malang. The research focused on addressing students difficulties in various aspects of reading comprehension, such as word meaning comprehension, and understanding text significance. The Reciprocal Teaching Method, encompassing prediction, clarification, questioning, and summarization strategies, was employed to enhance reading comprehension. The study utilized a classroom action research approach, integrating the method into reading instruction. Data collection methods included observations, questionnaires, and tests.
