Abstract

Abstract: This study explains the negative statement from FLCAS points that have
been divided into three aspects of anxiety causes (communication apprehension,
test anxiety, and fear of negative evaluation). The researcher included all middle-
grade students, 248 students in total. The researcher distributed a questionnaire in
the form of a Google containing personal identity and 22 questions of FLCAS. The
data are analyzed using the SPSS application. The analysis showed that the
influence of varied communication apprehension on English learning anxiety was
71.41%. The fear of negative evaluation variable on English learning anxiety is
64.1%. Communication apprehension is more influential on the anxiety of learning
English than the variable of fear of negative evaluation. It can be concluded that the
higher the level of communication apprehension and fear of negative evaluation,
the higher anxiety a person will feel while learning English.
