THE CORRELATION BETWEEN MORPHOLOGICAL AWARENESS AND READING COMPREHENSION OF SIXTH SEMESTER STUDENTS OF ENGLISH EDUCATION DEPARTMENT AT UNISMA

Abstract


The aim of this article is to correlate morphological awareness and reading  comprehension of the sixth semester students of English Education Department at UNISMA academic year 2021/2022. In this research, the researcher used quantitative approach and utilized SPSS version 20 to calculate the result of relation. The researcher had a tough time gathering data for this study, especially because the online participant was difficult to locate. The result of this study is there is a positive correlation between morphological awareness and reading comprehension with the score correlation coefficient is .632, indicating that there is a strong of level correlation. It means, all of students who get high morphology test score, also get  high reading score, and vice viersa. Then .000 is the significant amount, which is lower than.05.
