PENGARUH EKSTRAK AIR DAUN Annona muricata TERHADAP INDIKATOR OBESITAS DAN KADAR ASAM URAT SERUM TIKUS YANG DIINDUKSI DIET TINGGI LEMAK DAN TINGGI FRUKTOSA

Abstract

 

Background: The consumption of a high-fat and high-fructose (HFHF) diet triggers obesity that can be measured by the Body Mass Index (BMI) and visceral fat. Hiperuricemia is one of the complication of obesity. Soursop leaves (Annona muricata) have a potential as hypolipidemic so it is expected to reduce BMI, weight of visceral fat, and serum uric acid levels.

Methods: The study used a laboratory experimental method in vivo with a post-test group only research design. The study sample used male wistar rats (Rattus norvegicus) with an age of 8-10 weeks with an initial weight of 175-200 grams and divided into 5 groups namely KN, KP, K1, K2, and K3 with a total of 5 rats per group. KN was given normal diet, while other groups were given TLTF diet for 10 weeks. Soursop leaf aqueous extract (SLAE) was water dissolved and given to K1 (100 mg/kgBB), K2 (200 mg/kgBB), K3 (400 mg/kgBB) as orally. BMI is calculated by the formula of weight divided by height (g/cm2). Rats are obese if the BMI is > 0.68 g/cm2. Visceral fat is calculated by the ratio of rat body weight to total fat weight in the renal, epididymal, and abdominal regions so that the results will be in the form of percent. Examination of serum uric acid levels using blood serum was examined by a colorimetric chemical autoanalyzer (ABX Pentra C200).

Results and Discussion There is an increase in BMI in K1 and K2 compared to KN. K3 does not differ significantly compared to KN. However, BMI in KP was not significantly different compared to K1, K2 and K3. Visceral fat percentage and uric acid levels did not differ significantly in all groups.

Conclusion: Giving SLAE could decrease BMI at specific dose so that it could reduce obesity rates even did not affect the weight of visceral fat and uric acid levels.
