TINJAUAN HUKUM ISLAM TERHADAP FENOMENA CHILDFREE

Abstract

Marriage is a sacred bond between a man and a woman. Meanwhile, according to Law No. 1 of 1947, marriage is a spiritual bond between a man and a woman as husband. But recently there has been a widespread phenomenon of couples who do not want to have children or what is more commonly known as Childfree. Based on this, the researcher studied the Islamic Law Review of the Childfree Phenomenon. This research uses descriptive analytics with a qualitative research type using a normative and sociological approach, as for data collection techniques based on primary and secondary data using descriptive methods. After the researchers conducted a discussion, it can be concluded that the view of Islamic law towards Childfree is a deviation from religious norms. The impact of marriage without children includes both positive and negative impacts. From a positive aspect, namely: it can reduce the rate of human population, eliminate the selfish attitude of parents, it will eliminate the burden of responsibility for children, reduce poverty levels, reduce child mortality at an early age. Meanwhile, from the negative side, namely: not being able to feel the happiness of being a parent, if there is no commitment at the beginning it will cause conflict in the family,
