TRADISI LEK MELLEK PADA PERNIKAHAN MENURUT PANDANGAN HUKUM ISLAM (studi kasus Desa Pangarengan Kabupaten Sampang)

Abstract


In this case, the custom in question is the lek melek custom, which means staying up late or not sleeping. The lek mellek tradition is carried out on the 1st day of the wedding event at exactly 21:00 WIB. There are no restrictions or conditions for attending this event, anyone can attend, male or female, young or old and also children. Everyone who came to this event not only aimed to celebrate it, but they also helped the host's work while also praying for and being happy for the families of the bride and groom. What needs to be considered in carrying out the literacy tradition is whether it is by generally accepted norms. Because, according to one party, some claim that there are individuals who deliberately take advantage of the opportunity of the lek literacy tradition to do things that are deviant or not good according to the norms of society in general, such as drinking prohibited drinks, betting and so on. For the reason that this activity creates enthusiasm for literacy. Drinking alcohol and other activities have the potential to damage the reputation of traditions. The main aim of the lek melek custom is its benefit; namely strengthening ties and cultivating ties between residents of Pangarengan Village, Pangarengan District, Sampang Regency. In connection with what is explained above, it is related that all traditions have good aims, including the lek mellek tradition itself. There is also an expression stated by Ibnu Mas'ud which means "From Ibnu Mas'ud ra. He said, "What Muslims think is good, surely according to Allah SWT is also good." Of course, with this, the lek mellek tradition can be carried out and continue to be preserved by the people of Pangarengan Village. It's just by eliminating things that are not permitted and prohibited by religion.
