OPTIMALISASI PERKEMBANGAN KOGNITIF ANAK USIA 4–5 TAHUN MELALUI PEMANFAATAN MEDIA INTERAKTIF KHAN KIDS DI RA AL-FATTAH KARANGDUREN PAKIS
Abstract
This study aims to resolve the problem of early cognitive development, particularly in numerical concept comprehension, among 4-5-year-old learners at RA Al-Fattah Karangduren, Pakisaji, Malang. The primary factor underlying this issue was the reliance on static and conventional instructional media, such as printed worksheets. To mitigate this limitation, an interactive game-based application, Khan Academy Kids, was introduced into the learning design. Utilizing Classroom Action Research (CAR) based on the Kemmis & McTaggart spiral framework, this investigation engaged 9 young learners in Group A. Data were collected using structured direct observation and comprehensive documentation, followed by qualitative and quantitative descriptive analytical techniques. The results demonstrated a substantial and progressive enhancement in mathematical cognitive capabilities across three iterative cycles. The baseline achievement recorded at the pre-cycle phase was 58%, which subsequently increased to 61% in Cycle I, 71% in Cycle II, and ultimately reached an optimal outcome of 91% in Cycle III (comprising 5 children reaching Expected Development and 4 children achieving Very Good Development). Consequently, integrating interactive Khan Kids media effectively accelerates early childhood cognitive progression, heightens learning engagement, and maximizes instructional efficacy.
