PENGENALAN BUDAYA INDONESIA PADA ANAK USIA DINI DI TK AL HIKMAH
Abstract
The introduction of Indonesian culture in early childhood is an essential effort in shaping children’s identity and instilling cultural values from an early age, which is part of the self-identity element within the learning achievement scope of identity development. However, the rapid advancement of digital technology has led to decreased engagement of children with local culture, particularly traditional games. This study focuses on the introduction of Indonesian culture through traditional games in early childhood, aiming to describe the process of cultural introduction implemented in learning activities at TK Al Hikmah. This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The research subjects include children aged 5–6 years, teachers, and the school principal, with data collected through observations, semi-structured interviews, and documentations. The findings indicate that cultural introduction is carried out in integrated manner through traditional games such as engklek, jump rope, and bakiak, which are modified with cultural elements. Cultural introduction is implemented through the use of traditional clothing, visual media depicting cultural elements, and singing regional songs. These activities provide concrete and enjoyable learning experiences, enabling children to recognize various cultural elements such as traditional clothing, traditional houses, and regional arts. Thus, traditional games serve as an effective medium for introducing Indonesian culture while strengthening children’s identity in a contextual and meaningful way.
