UPAYA MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN FISIK MOTORIK MELALUI PERMAINAN TRADISIONAL UNTUK ANAK USIA 3-4 TAHUN DI KB SUNAN GIRI
Abstract
This study aims to improve the physical motor skills of children aged 3–4 years through traditional games at KB Sunan Giri, Malang Regency. The background of this research is the low gross motor skills of children, especially in balance, jumping, and body coordination activities. This research used a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach with two cycles, where each cycle consisted of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of this study were 14 children aged 3–4 years. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The indicators assessed were the ability to walk on one foot, jump with two feet, and coordinate body movements. The results showed a significant improvement in children’s physical motor skills through the implementation of traditional games. In the pre-cycle stage, the average score was 5.7 with a success percentage of 21%. In cycle I, the average score increased to 7.95 with a success percentage of 53.5%, while in cycle II it increased significantly to 10.15 with a success percentage of 88.2%. These findings indicate that traditional games are effective in improving children’s physical motor skills and creating enjoyable, active, and meaningful learning experiences in early childhood education.
