MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MENGENAL BILANGAN 1 SAMPAI 10 MELALUI AKTIVITAS MONTESSORI DI TK BANI UMAR MALANG
Abstract
There are various activities both in the Montessori approach and also other activities that can prepare young children before they are introduced to mathematical concepts. This research aims to improve the ability to recognize number 1 to 10 in ypung children through implementing Montessori activities at Bani Umar Kindergarten, Malang. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (PTK) which was carried out in three cycles. Each cycle consists of planning stages, action implementation, observation and reflection. The research subjects were 11 children from group A of 3 boys and 8 girls. The research results showed a significant increase in children’s ability to recognize numbers after implementing Montessori activities. In the pre-cycle stage, only 63% of children were able to name the numbers 1 to 10, with other indicators showing lower levels of success. After implementing the first cycle, the success rate in saying number increased to 54%, and in the second cycle it reached 81%. In addition, chidren show a better understanding of the concepts of many-little and number order through straws and other systematically designed activities.
