IMPLEMENTASI KEGIATAN MEMBACA AL-QUR’AN SISWA MTS RAUDLATUL ULUM KARANGPLOSO KABUPATEN MALANG

Abstract

This study aims to describe the planning, implementation, and outcomes of Qur’anic reading activities among students at MTs Raudlatul Ulum Karangploso, Malang Regency. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the head of the madrasah, Qur’anic reading teachers, and students as data sources. Data were analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña interactive model through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that the Qur’anic reading activity was planned by considering the diverse abilities and needs of students. The activity was conducted routinely every day after the congregational Dhuhr prayer, with teachers serving as the main guides. The implementation involved providing reading examples, collective reading, listening to students’ recitation, correcting pronunciation and tajwid errors, and providing additional guidance to students who experienced difficulties. The routine implementation of the activity contributed to positive developments in students’ Qur’anic reading fluency and tajwid application. In addition, the activity contributed to the development of students’ discipline, responsibility, courage, self-confidence, and religious character. Therefore, Qur’anic reading activities at MTs Raudlatul Ulum Karangploso can serve as a form of religious habituation that supports the improvement of students’ Qur’anic reading skills as well as the development of their religious character.
