IMPLEMENTASI GURU PAI SEBAGAI ROLE MODEL DALAM MEMBENTUK KEPRIBADIAN MUSLIM YANG KAFFAH DI SEKOLAH RENDAH ISLAM AL MAARIF SUNGAI PETANI MALAYSIA

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation os Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teacher as role models in shaping a comperhensive Muslim personality (Kaffah) at Sekolah Rendah Islam Al Maarif, Sungai Petani, Malaysia. The research is driven by the increasing challenges of moral degradation among youth influenced by globalization and digital culture, emphasizing the critical role of Teachers in fostering Islamic values. Positioned within qualitative descriptive research, it applies naturalistic observation, structured interviews, and documentation to explore how PAI teachers integrate Islamic values into daily school activities and model them for student. Data were collected from school leadres, teachers, and students to capture authenthic practies and their outcomes. Findings reveal that the effective ambodiment os Islamic principles by teachers sginificantly enhances students’ discipline, spirituality, and moral conduct, with practices such as collective worship, daily moral guidance, and consistent teacher-student interaction proving central. The study contributes to Islamic education discourse by offering practical strategies for character development through role modeling, supporting schools to bridge the gap between formal religious instruction and lived Islamic ethics.
