STRATEGI GURU PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM DALAM MEMBENTUK KARAKTER CINTA TANAH AIR SISWA SMA MAARIF NU PANDAAN

Abstract

This study explores the strategies employed by Islamic Education teachers at SMA Maarif NU Pandaan in cultivating students' love for their homeland through spiritual-based approaches. Recognizing the importance of character education integrated with nationalism, the research aims to identify how spiritual values influence students' nationalistic attitudes. Using qualitative case study methodology, data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The findings indicate that consistent integration of spiritual values such as honesty, responsibility, love, and gratitude positively impacts students’ emotional, social, and nationalistic character. Teachers act as role models and facilitators, implementing holistic and contextual strategies that embed love for the country within religious and moral frameworks. This research contributes to understanding the role of spiritual intelligence in strengthening national character among students, emphasizing an integrative approach that balances religious and civic education to foster responsible and patriotic citizens.
