Abstract

This study explores the pivotal role of Islamic education teachers in enhancing seventh-grade students' comprehension of thaharah practices at MTs Negeri 02 Malang. The research addresses the question of how teachers facilitate effective learning amidst internal and external challenges. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through observation, unstructured interviews, and document analysis to gain an in-depth understanding of instructional strategies, obstacles, and contextual factors influencing student understanding. The findings reveal that teachers employ practical, contextual, and demonstrative methods such as direct practice, multimedia, and real-life examples to improve students’ grasp of ablution and purity rituals. Challenges identified include limited media facilities, varied student motivation, and differences in learning styles. The study emphasizes the importance of participatory and experiential learning techniques tailored to students' diverse needs. It concludes that teacher facilitation, media support, and contextual approaches significantly contribute to better mastery of thaharah practices, despite infrastructural and motivational constraints.
