PENGARUH MENGHAFAL AL-QUR’AN TERHADAP PERKEMBANGAN SOCIAL EMOTIONAL SKILLS (SES) PARA SANTRI PONDOK PESANTREN AL-BAROKAH MALANG

Abstract


This research aims to investigate the influence of Qur’anic memorization on the development of Social Emotional Skills (SES) among students at Al-Barokah Islamic Boarding School in Malang. It was prompted by the observation that emotional and social intelligence are essential in character development, yet are often overlooked in the context of memorization-centered learning. Employing a quantitative survey method with 59 purposively selected female students, data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire based on the five SES indicators: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. The findings revealed a significant positive correlation between consistent Qur’anic memorization and improved SES. The study concludes that intensive memorization activities, when integrated with character education, can foster holistic personal development among students.
