IMPLEMENTASI METODE PROBLEM SOLVING PADA PEMBELAJARAN AKIDAH AKHLAK DALAM PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM DI SMPN 13 MALANG

Abstract


The purpose of this study is to explain how the problem solving method is applied in the Akidah Akhlak lesson at SMPN 13 Malang, including the planning, implementation, and evaluation processes of the method. To improve students' understanding and critical skills in Islamic Religious Education, the problem-solving method was chosen due to the fact that the educational process requires active and interactive learning that demands collaboration between teachers and students. This method is considered relevant because it links religious theory with its application in the real world. Data were collected using qualitative methods through observation, interviews, and documentation that were analyzed descriptively. The results of the study showed that the planning and selection of materials were adjusted to the problem-solving approach. This improved students' ability to think critically, creatively, and work together. Problem identification, problem understanding, identification of alternative solutions, and evaluation of solutions were all actions taken by the teacher at the implementation stage. Group discussions were used during the evaluation process to assess students' abilities in critical thinking and understanding religious values. This method showed an increase in students' understanding of religion and critical thinking skills, as well as their ability to interact with others. Despite facing challenges in time allocation, the application of the problem solving method at SMPN 13 Malang is considered effective in improving learning outcomes and the relevance of Akidah Akhlak learning in students' daily lives.
