Abstract

Senior High School Nurul Istiqomah Wonorejo Lumajang is educational institution under the auspices of a pesantren-based Islamic foundation, which implements a flagship program for learning the yellow book as an effort to improve students' reading ability. Research at Senior High School Nurul Istiqomah Wonorejo Lumajang has the aim of knowing the condition of students in reading ability of the yellow book, how to implement the leading program for learning the yellow book and how the effectiveness of learning the yellow book is at Senior High School Nurul Istiqomah Wonorejo Lumajang. By using qualitative research methods. From the results of the study it was shown that the ability of students in the yellow book learning superior program was able to read the yellow book even though it had not yet reached the maximum level with the established criteria. In implementing the yellow book learning by using the sorogan method and the badongan method. The leading program for learning the yellow book that is implemented at Senior High School Nurul Istiqomah has been effective because teachers or teaching ustadz have the ability to master good material so that students can more easily and quickly improve their reading skills in the yellow book.
