PERILAKU KONSUMSI RUMAH TANGGA TERHADAP CABAI RAWIT DI DESA PUSPAN

Abstract

Chili is a commodity that has high value and is always needed by the Indonesian people. On average, Indonesian people consume chilies to add spicy flavor to their cooking. One of the things that underlies the consumption of cayenne pepper is the price trend. Where cayenne pepper is a commodity that experiences quite frequent price fluctuations, the price of chilies in Indonesia will increase in October 2023. The aim of this research is to find out how households behave towards cayenne peppers when price fluctuations occur. This research was carried out in Puspan Village, Maron District, Probolinggo using a random sampling method with a sample of 66 respondents. The analysis method for this research uses descriptive analysis methods. The research results show that the majority of households consume 200-300 grams a month, on average they buy cayenne pepper from mobile vegetable sellers. When the price of cayenne pepper increases, 58% of the sample chooses to reduce their consumption of cayenne pepper, while when the price of cayenne pepper decreases, 61% of the sample consumes more. The average household makes purchases twice a week. On big days, 93% of the sample chose to make larger purchases and consumption than usual days.
