The Effectiveness of PhoTransEdit Application in Improving Pronunciation Skill

Abstract


The objective of this study to find out the effect of PhotransEdit application in improving pronunciation skill. Subject of the study is the fourth semester English Department students in UNISBA Blitar. There are 30 students in total which were divided into two groups. Contained 15 students as experimental group and the other 15 students as control group. Since the data in this research used both quantitative acted in first phase of this study. After the quantitative data were colected and analyzed then continued with the collection and analysis of qualitative data which acted in a second phase in order to strengthen or support the quantitave results, therefore explanatory design was applied for this research. And the results yielded that experimental group achieved better score than control group, and also using the application made the easier to write and understand the phonetic transcription therefore improving their pronunciation skill.
