Abstract

ABSTRACT

This study aims to determine the factors driving and inhibiting rice farming on household income of farmers in Mojokerto City and identifying the magnitude of the contribution of rice farming to household income of farmers in Mojokerto City. The selection of research locations was carried out deliberately in Mojokerto City. This research uses accidental sampling sample collection method with a sample size of 15 respondents of rice farmers. Data analysis used was SWOT analysis, descriptive qualitative analysis, percentage descriptive analysis and farm analysis. The results of the analysis showed there are internal and external factors that affect rice farming in the Sekarputih City of Mojokerto, which include internal factors are strengths and weaknesses. One of the strengths that exist in rice farming is that farmers are still holding fast to their ancestral heritage to maintain existing agriculture. While the weaknesses contained in this rice farming is the marketing process is only limited to middlemen. In addition, external factors include opportunities and threats. There are several opportunities that can be utilized by rice farming, one of which is there is support from the government in the form of subsidies for fertilizers, seeds and alsintan. In addition, the contribution of rice farming to the household income of rice farmers in Mojokerto was 67.26%.
