STRATEGI PROGRAM SMART ENGLISH UNTUK MELATIH PRONOUNCE VOCABULARIES SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstract


The purpose of this study is to provide an in-depth description of the planning, implementation, and outcomes of the Smart English Program for second-grade students at Brawijaya Smart School Elementary School, Malang. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection methods including observations and in-depth interviews with the principal, program coordinator, teachers, and students. Planning indicate that the Smart English Program was systematically designed based on an evaluation of bilingual class programs, which were deemed ineffective. was realized through the development of Smart English Modules to align material with the students' developmental levels. Implementation ran routinely Monday through Thursday for 15 minutes before the main lesson, through four stages: Read and Listen, Vocabulary and Translation, Structure, and Practice. Teachers employ listening and repeat, drilling, and direct correction, fully supported by school policies, facilities, and an annual Smart English Show. The Smart English Program positive impact on the development of students' pronunciation and increased confidence and increased vocabulary acquisition. Evaluation evaluated continuously five key indicators established by the school, which assess not only learning outcomes also program implementation and active student engagement. Collaboration between school stakeholders is a key factor in the program's success and sustainability.
