PENGGUNAAN MEDIA BUKU TULIS KOTAK HALUS UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MENULIS PERMULAAN SISWA KELAS 1 MADRASAH IBTIDAIYAH

Abstract

Writing is an essential language skill that allows for the effective expression of complex thoughts and the creation of detailed reports. In teaching writing, media plays a crucial role by helping to capture and reorganize information. By selecting effective media, educators can significantly enhance students' writing skills, especially in early elementary grades, such as grade 1. At MI Miftahul Ulum Ampeldento, observations revealed significant results in writing abilities among 35 students, indicating a need for a focused teaching strategy. The introduction of big grid notebooks provided a structured approach to promote clear and legible writing. This classroom action research followed the planning, action, observation, and reflection cycle based on the Kemmis-Mc. Taggart Model (1988). Data collection involved comprehensive observation sheets, allowing for an in-depth analysis of teaching effectiveness. Remarkably, students’ writing skills improved significantly, with those facing difficulties dropping from 8 to just 2 over two cycles. Challenges such as low concentration and lack of confidence were addressed through engaging instructional media, resulting in the average writing assessment score rising by 7 points after the first cycle and an additional 8 points after the second cycle. This study underscores the positive impact of big grid notebooks in early writing education, laying a strong foundation for literacy development and fostering a conducive learning environment for students' academic growth.
