PENDIDIKAN MORAL BERBASIS BUDAYA SEKOLAH

Abstract

The moral decline in the nation's generation is more especially among students which is shown through actions, bullying, and fights. This problem is a challenge for a number of school institutions as a forum for moral formation for the provision of quality teaching facilities. MI Khadijah Malang as one of the formal education institutions that continues to strive to improve moral education through the implementation of a full-day school policy which is shown by a habituation program. The position of the researcher as a participant observer who aims to gain a deep and holistic understanding of social phenomena by being directly involved in them. This study uses a qualitative approach with a type of phenomenological research with data sources divided into two, namely primary sources (students, teachers, deputy teaching staff and BK teachers), while secondary sources such as documents, archives, and other data that are closely related to the research study. The data collection techniques are observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the research were obtained that MI Khadijah has various forms of moral education programs based on school culture, both scheduled such as religious activities (dawn prayer, dhuha prayer and mandatory prayer and Al-Hikmah) and non-religious (flag ceremony, clean Friday, and extracurricular), then unscheduled activities include habituation that is carried out spontaneously by advising and exemplifying good behavior in respecting teachers,  fellow students and protecting the environment.  This success is supported by infrastructure facilities and professional teachers. However, there are still challenges that need to be overcome, namely the lack of awareness of students in understanding moral values and the lack of support for the family environment.
