Abstract


The objective of this research is to uncover the execution of the Malay language learning procedure at Trathom Suksa (ประถมศึกษา) within Tha-it Suksa School in Nonthaburi Bangkok Thailand. This encompasses various aspects such as teaching approaches, methodologies, strategies, techniques, and instructional resources. It also delves into the dynamics of teacher-student interactions, as well as the respective roles played by teachers, students, and educational materials. In order to accomplish this, qualitative research methods were adopted for the study. The research participants consisted of teachers, students, and school administrators, all integral to the implementation of the Malay language curriculum within the educational institution. Data collection strategies employed encompassed participant observation, interviews, and an analysis of relevant documents. The findings of this investigation underscore that the chosen learning approaches, methods, strategies, and techniques employed adequately stimulate student enthusiasm for Malay language acquisition. Despite Malay not being the predominant spoken language and Thai still maintaining broader usage, effective communication channels are established between teachers and students. Teachers effectively assume roles as mentors, planners, and supervisors. Students are granted opportunities to seek additional learning resources, while the existing materials serve as sufficient motivators for their learning journey. Classroom management strategies employed during the teaching and learning process contribute significantly to enhancing learning outcomes in a productive and efficient manner. Language assessments encompassing reading, speaking, listening, and writing aptitudes are employed to evaluate the educational process. These assessment tools are well-aligned with the lesson plan and tailored to match students' cognitive and social capacities, comprehensively encompassing both content and linguistic proficiencies.
