PENGARUH APLIKASI PUPUK ORGANIK CAIR URIN SAPI DAN KELINCI TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN DAN HASIL TANAMAN SELADA ROMAINE (Lactuca Sativa var. L)

Abstract


Romaine lettuce (Lactuca sativa L. var. longifolia) is a horticultural commodity with high economic value and significant market demand. Lettuce productivity can be increased through the use of liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) as an environmentally friendly fertilization alternative. This study aims to determine the effect of the type and concentration of cow urine and rabbit urine-based liquid organic fertilizers on the growth and yield of romaine lettuce and to identify the optimal treatment. The study was conducted using a factorial randomized block design (RBD) with two factors—type of organic fertilizer (cow urine and rabbit urine) and organic fertilizer concentration (0, 100, 200, and 300 mL/L)—with three replicates. Observation parameters included plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, fresh weight of aboveground parts, fresh weight of roots, dry weight, chlorophyll content, and harvest index. The data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by a 5% BNJ test. The results of the study indicate that there is an interaction between the type and concentration of POC on several growth parameters and the yield of romaine lettuce. Treatment P1K3 (cow urine POC at 300 mL/L) yielded the best response in terms of plant growth and yield. Based on regression analysis, the optimum concentration of cow urine POC was 298.88 mL/L, resulting in an economic fresh weight of 3.32 metric tons per hectare.
