Abstract

This study aims to promote a shift in the business paradigm from a capitalist economy to an Islamic economic system through an empirical approach. This shift is crucial for establishing a more ethical and sustainable business environment within the framework of Islam. The research employed a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis. The empirical investigation focused on the professions of cattle breeders and rattan furniture craftsmen, who served as the sources of data. The findings reveal that these professions have implemented the five fundamental principles of Islamic business ethics: unity, balance, freedom of will, responsibility, and truth. However, respondents in this study did not fully comprehend Islamic financial literacy, particularly the concept of Riba, which they associate with taking excessive profits.
