Pengaruh Literasi Lingkungan, Literasi Keuangan Syariah, dan Perceived Behavioral Control Terhadap Adopsi Produk Keuangan Syariah : Peran Mediasi Perilaku Berkelanjutan (Studi Kasus : Ekosistem Plasticpay–BSI di Kota Malang)
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the influence of environmental literacy, sharia financial literacy, and perceived behavioral control on the adoption of sharia financial products, as well as to examine the role of sustainable behavior as a mediating variable. This study's backdrop is the rapid growth of Indonesia's plastic waste problem alongside the low level of sharia financial literacy among the public, which has encouraged collaboration between digital circular-economy platforms and sharia financial institutions, such as the Plasticpay–BSI ecosystem in Malang City. Two hundred eighty-nine respondents who were students and staff of Universitas Negeri Malang as well as visitors and staff of Lavalette Hospital made up the sample for this quantitative explanatory study, selected through purposive sampling. With the aid of SmartPLS software, data were gathered via questionnaires and subjected to Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis. The findings demonstrated that environmental literacy, sharia financial literacy, and perceived behavioral control had a positive and significant impact on the adoption of sharia financial products, both directly and indirectly through sustainable behavior as a mediating variable. These results show that sustainable behavior serves as an important mechanism strengthening the Theory of Planned Behavior in explaining the adoption of sharia financial products within a digital circular-economy context. The results of this study suggest that Bank Syariah Indonesia and Plasticpay should strengthen literacy education and ease of use of their digital platform, while regulators should support broader environmental and sharia financial literacy programs to encourage sustainable community participation.
Keywords: Environmental literacy, sharia financial literacy, perceived behavioral control, sustainable behavior, adoption of sharia financial products.
