Abstract

This study analyzes the role of Islamic banking incubation in strengthening innovation and business sustainability of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Using a qualitative descriptive case study approach, the research was conducted at BSI UMKM Center Surabaya. The study examines how the structured incubation model—comprising pre-incubation, incubation, and post-incubation stages—supports managerial capacity building, halal entrepreneurship development, access to Sharia financing, digital transformation, and market linkage expansion. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation involving managers, mentors, and assisted MSMEs. The findings reveal that Islamic banking incubation significantly enhances product innovation, marketing digitalization, financial management improvement, and business resilience. The sustainability impact is reflected in revenue stability, expanded market access, improved managerial competence, and stronger business adaptability. The study concludes that Islamic banking incubation serves not only as a financing intermediary but as a holistic empowerment ecosystem integrating ethical finance, structured mentoring, and halal value-based development. This model contributes to strengthening MSME competitiveness and long-term sustainability in the Islamic economic framework.
