Implementasi Indeks Desa Zakat pada Masyarakat Desa Pandanrejo Kecamatan Wagir Kabupaten Malang

Abstract

Poverty is a significant challenge in Malang Regency, especially in Pandanrejo Village. As one of the Islamic economic instruments, zakat has great potential in supporting community empowerment if managed effectively. This study aims to assess the suitability of Pandanrejo Village for receiving zakat assistance from BAZNAS through the Zakat Village Index (IDZ). A mixed-methods approach is employed, utilizing the IDZ as the analytical tool, which is calculated using a weighted multi-stage method. Primary data were gathered through interviews, observations, and documentation, while secondary data were sourced from village reports and zakat institutions. The findings indicate that the total IDZ score for Pandanrejo Village is 0.56, placing it in the "quite good" category. Specifically, the economic dimension scored 0.35, health 0.87, education 0.63, social and humanitarian 0.50, and da'wah and advocacy 0.43. The economic and da'wah dimensions require priority intervention through zakat empowerment programs, such as business capital, assistance to business actors, and religious education and empowerment advocacy. This study concludes that IDZ is an effective evaluation tool to determine the priority of zakat programs in villages. With a planned zakat intervention, it is expected that the welfare of the Pandanrejo Village community can increase sustainably.
