Abstract


One of the wastes that is now commonly found is chicken feather, in the form of chicken feather waste which is mostly produced from the industry of Chicken Slaughterhouse (RPA). In waste management, it is necessary to apply environmentally sound technology that can overcome environmental problems by preserving environmental functions.

Chicken feather has the potential to be used as animal feed (Supriyati et al., 2000) because it has a high protein content, which is 80-90% of dry matter, exceeds the crude protein content of soybean meal (42.5%) and fish flour (66.5 %) (Adiati and Puastuti, 2004).

This tool is planned to handle the problem of chicken feather waste in chicken slaughterhouses by utilizing chicken feather waste into flour as the main ingredient in poultry feed mixture.

From the results of the planning of the tool, the engine planning with a capacity of 48 kg / hour is obtained and has specifications for each component such as a 1.5 HP electric motorbike, 10 pieces of disc mill blade, a transmission system used is a single belt type A no 33, pulley motor with a diameter of 75 mm and pulley shaft 131.25. The bearings used are spherical ball bearings with number 6002 bearing number selection with consideration of shaft diameter 14.91 mm. For frame construction it has a length of 1000 mm, a width of 500 mm and a height of 700 mm
