Analisis Campuran Bahan Bakar B 35 dengan Solar Terhadap Performa dan Emisi Pada Engine W16V34

Abstract


ABSTRACK

As a developing country, Indonesia faces major challenges in meeting its energy demand due to its dependence on fossil fuels, which have negative environmental impacts. One of the efforts to address this issue is the implementation of a mandatory biodiesel program, including the use of B35, which contains 35% biodiesel derived from palm oil. This study aims to analyze the effect of B35 compared to diesel (B0) on the performance and exhaust emissions of the W16V34 diesel engine at PLTMG Rangko, West Manggarai. The research method used is an experimental approach with direct engine testing and quantitative analysis of the results. The findings show that the use of B35 decreases the Mean Effective Pressure (MEP) by 2% and Thermal Efficiency by 3.09%, while increasing the Brake Specific Fuel Consumption (BSFC) by 5.32% compared to B0. However, in terms of emissions, B35 successfully reduces Carbon Monoxide (CO) emissions by 9.7% and Hydrocarbon (HC) emissions by 32.9%, although Carbon Dioxide (CO2) emissions increase by 22%. Overall, the use of B35 provides a compromise between engine performance and environmental impact, offering a more environmentally friendly alternative compared to pure diesel.
