Abstract


Energy is a force possessed by a substance so that the substance has an effect on the surrounding circumstances. The Savonius wind turbine consists of two semicircular housings mounted on a vertical shaft. The principle of operation of this turbine is to use the thrust of the wind blowing on the surface of the hull. This type of turbine is relatively easy to manufacture, so it can be applied in areas far from the power grid. This study aims to design a Savonius wind turbine with 4 blades and sizes of 30 and 45 degrees as a low energy supplier. This wind turbine is expected to produce renewable, environmentally friendly electricity, which can be applied in remote and unserved areas
