PENGARUH PENAMBAHAN FULLERENE PADA MINYAK HASIL PIROLISIS POLYPROPYLENE TERHADAP KARAKTERISTIK PEMBAKARAN SINGLE DROPLET
Abstract
Liquid fuel that utilizes polypropylene type plastic waste which has the potential to reduce waste accumulation continues to be developed. One of them is oil produced by the pyrolysis method of polypropylene type as a renewable liquid fuel which has a comparison with diesel. The mixing method with nanocarbon fullerene is one way to improve the characteristics of the oil to produce a fast and good combustion rate. Dark yellow polypropylene oil contains almost the same content as conventional fuels so it can be easily burned. In this study using the experimental method. A single droplet is used as an analogy to describe particles sprayed into a combustion engine through a sprayer in the combustion chamber using pure polypropylene oil mixed with fullerene nanocarbon with a PP percentage of 0 PPM, 1 PPM, 5 PPM. The results showed that the higher the percentage of the nanocarbon fullerene mixture, the faster the combustion rate and the flame temperature increased, the visualization of the flame at height and width increased and did not have a very significant comparison at 1 PPM and 5 PPM due to the microexplotion phenomenon that occurred at the beginning burning. It is different from 0 PPM which is due to the high viscosity of the oil which affects the boiling point of the combustion process. Of the three test variations, the best results were found in the 1 PPM mixture variation because the combustion rate was faster with a percentage increase of 42% and the black soot was decreasing, so that when applied to the engine it will provide great power.
