Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of immersion time with the electroplating process on the corrosion rate of aluminum alloy. This study used an aluminum alloy 6061 workpiece with an electroplating coating process using an immersion time of 30 minutes and 60 minutes. Soaking corrosive media 168 hours, 336 hours, 504 hours, 720 hours. Corrosive media used in carrying out the corrosion rate using NaCl solution, the anode used is nickel, the current used is 10 amperes, the electric voltage is 12 volts. The result of the effect of the long immersion time in the electroplating process is that the best final weight value for the electroplating immersion time is 168 hours and 504 hours at 0.161% and the largest weight loss value is at 720 hours at 0.317%, while the best weight loss value is at the long immersion time. electroplating 60 minutes is 168 hours by 0.118% and the largest weight loss value at 504 hours is 0.207%.
