Abstract


Abstract
In 2008 the global financial crisis that hit the United States has spread throughout the
world. The condition of the global economic crisis will certainly affect the financial performance
of a bank, and each bank has different financial performance conditions in receiving the impact
of the global crisis, including conventional banks and sharia banks. Thus the purpose of this
study is to analyze the comparison of financial performance of syari'ah banks and conventional
banks, used in this study are the Bank Syari'ah Mandiri and Bank Mandiri Tbk.
In evaluating bank performance, this research uses CAMEL ratio, which consist of Capital
category, Asset, Management, Earning, and Liability. To analyze is done by using comparative
descriptive analysis.
The results showed that seen from the ratio of CAR and KAP in 2011-2015 both banks
declared healthy. Judging from the ratio of NPLs to Bank Syari'ah Mandiri in 2011-2015 stated
healthy enough while for Bank Mandiri declared healthy. The ratio of NPM of Bank Syari'ah
Mandiri in 2011-2015 is considered less healthy, and Bank Mandiri's NPM ratio in 2011-2015 is
stated healthy. Judging from the ratio of ROA Bank Syari'ah Mandiri in 2011-2014 stated
healthy only in 2015 declared less healthy, and the ratio of ROA of Bank Mandiri in 2011-2015
stated healthy. Liquidity calculated by LDR ratio for Bank Syari'ah Mandiri in 2011 and 2015 is
stated healthy, while in 2012-2014 stated less healthy. And Bank Mandiri LDR ratio of 2011-
2017 is stated healthy.
